History

Central Maintenance and Welding, Inc. has a proud 57-year history of relentless dedication to helping our customers succeed.  As trusted partners, we are committed to going beyond the expectations in the areas of field work performance, quality fabrication production, and safety at every level of the organization.    This road to exceptualism began with Hank Varnum’s vision for CMW in 1966 with two associates and continues to present day.

Hank Varnum established the culture of the company from the first day.  Hard work, integrity, fiscal responsibility, and ensuring every project was completed on time and on budget were the foundational landmarks of the organization’s reputation.  Early work began in the phosphate industry and has expanded into power generation, mining, construction, commercial, and industrial projects.

Today, as a leading provider of maintenance, fabrication, and construction services, we pride ourselves on the quality of our work. To this end, we employ only the most highly skilled and dependable employees. Our welders and weld procedures are qualified in accordance with ASME Section IX. We hold ASME (U) and (S) stamps as well as the National Board (R) stamp.
